Children's Book Review: Mustache Baby

Mustache Baby is a children's book about a baby that is born with a mustache and during the book, you are trying to find out if he has a good guy mustache or a bad guy mustache. This book is completely adorable and I just love reading it to my son. He thinks it's absolutely hilarious so it's a win-win. And then, there's a sequel! That's right. Mustache Baby Meets His Match is the second installment in this great series. This time, a new character is introduced. A baby with a beard shows up for a playdate and Mustache Baby is only slightly thrilled by this. I highly recommend these stories! Please, read them for yourselves to find the magic of these books.

DIY Bookmark by a toddler

This past Mother's Day, my son made an amazing gift for me! It's adorable and I get to see it every time I read a book. I love it! Plus, it's super easy.

Step 1: Pick out some pictures and arrange them in a word document. Print. Cut down to size.

Step 2: Have your child color on a piece of paper (we used a green piece of paper). Cut the paper down to the same size as your pictures. We then chose to write on it and have my son sign it, but this part is clearly optional.

Step 3: Cut a black piece of paper a little larger than your other two pieces of paper. Now glue your colored paper and pictures on opposite sides of the black paper.

Step 4: Use clear tape (like packing tape) to cover your bookmark. We used two pieces to accommodate how wide it was. You can barely see the seam. This basically laminates the bookmark to make it more durable.

Step 5: Use a hole punch to make a hole in the top. Use a piece of yarn to make a tail at the top. We used yarn that was the same color as the piece of paper my son colored.

Book Review: Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger

By the author of The Devil Wears Prada, Lauren Weisberger does it again. This book has love, heartbreak, backstabbing, work conflict, travel, partying, and some twists that you might not see coming. (and even if you do see them coming, they're still interesting) I laughed. I cried. It was relatable, yet fantasy. A young woman in her mid- to late-thirties, Bette Robinson, is working at a horribly boring banking job when she up and decides to quit. She is introduced to the head of a hot PR firm by her uncle, and is thrown into this world (completely opposite of where she was before) where her job includes going out every night to see and be seen inside the VIP rooms. Suddenly, Bette's professional life and private life are one in the same and she appears in a vicious new gossip column. You'll have to read the book to discover more. I recommend it.

Book Review: Man Up! by Ross Matthews

I'm sure many of you have at least heard of Ross Matthews. He is a correspondent on Jay Leno. He was the opening act for Chelsea Handler at one time. He also appears on Chelsea Lately sometimes. In my opinion, he's simply hilarious! I definitely wish we were best friends. He's always so humble about everything. He doesn't think he's amazing because he gets to meet famous people. I just love him. The stories in this book are all so funny. They're about his life and I love them. The stories tell about him growing up and becoming who he is today. He talks about being made fun of for his voice and dealing with being gay. If you haven't read this book already, please do! I was laughing so hard at times (my husband thought I was crazy).

Just so you all know, there is a quiz in the back and I did get them all correct. I expect the same out of all of you if you choose to read it!

Book Review: Call Me Irresistible by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

This book is funny, heart-wrenching, and relatable (especially if you've ever felt like you weren't good enough for your parents). Some people are born with every chance in the world to be great. They come from rich, intelligent, talented parents. And yet, they're nothing but a failure in comparison. That's the way Meg has turned out. When she finally makes her way to Texas for her best friend's wedding after her parents have cut her off completely, she stirs up trouble that no one is ready for. The wedding falls apart, everyone blames Meg, and now she's stuck in a town where everyone hates her and no money. I laughed. I cried. I felt anger. This book was much better than I expected it to be and I was kept interested the entire time. If you're looking for a good book, I say read it.

Literary Genius!

Do you love books as much as I do? I have always been incredibly jealous of Belle. She get's to be in that beautiful library because she was able to accept the beast. I would accept the beast if I got that library!
